She first captured hearts as Miss Belgium, then rose to international acclaim as 2nd Runner-Up at Miss Asia Pacific International 2025—where, in a defining moment, she was also awarded Miss Trainstation International, a title that honored the power of her voice and spirit. Through it all, Selena Ali has proven she is far more than a beauty queen—she is a force of resilience, compassion, and authenticity.

“I didn’t start joining pageants because I believed I was the ultimate image of outer perfection. In fact, that’s exactly the message I want to challenge—because what is perfect, really? For me, everything starts with self-love.”

When she stood on the Miss Asia Pacific International stage, she carried not just herself, but the stories of breast cancer survivors. She wanted the world to see them as she does: radiant, powerful, and whole.

Beyond the pageant stage, Selena’s entrepreneurial journey has been just as impactful. She is the founder of SOPHIS®, a luxury handbag brand that she describes as “wearable art—bold, emotional, extravagant.”

The brand was born as a tribute to her dear friend Sophie, who passed away from breast cancer. From Sophie’s story grew the Sophis Selfcare Foundation, which financially supports breast cancer warriors in their healing journey.

Launching SOPHIS® during the pandemic was, for Selena, proof that “Amazing is Possible.”

“The world had stopped, but we kept building. And when everything opened again, we had something beautiful, complete, and ready. That’s when I knew—even when everything goes wrong, you can still create something great and meaningful.”

Selena’s strength comes from three anchors: Sophie, her mom, and the community that surrounds her.

Her mother, she says, has been her unwavering supporter for 28 years. Sophie’s memory reminds her to keep going. And the people who believe in her—mentors, friends, and even strangers who send her warm messages—fuel her every step.

When doubts creep in, Selena goes back to her why:

“I think of the women who see themselves in my story. I think of my mentors—especially Lauralyn, my national director, who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.”

Miss Trainstation International: A Defining Moment

Among all her titles, Miss Trainstation International holds a special place in her heart.

It wasn’t about beauty walks or gowns—it was about voice.

During the Trainstation course, Selena spoke spontaneously to uplift fellow contestants who felt discouraged. Her words lit a spark in the room, reminding everyone that no single award defines their worth.

“That’s amazing—not just winning a title, but being able to inspire others simply by being true to who you are. Thanks to TrainStation, I was given that platform, that space to grow and show myself. And I will never forget that.”

When asked what she wants to be remembered for, Selena doesn’t mention crowns, titles, or even her brand. She says simply:

“My energy, my heart… and the laughter. I want people to smile when they remember me—dancing, joking, living life with joy.”

Selena dreams of expanding SOPHIS® worldwide, opening more doors for both art and advocacy. Personally, she hopes to one day start a family and bring her future children to the Philippines—“her second home.”

And while she admits to indulging daily in her guilty pleasure—Belgian chocolate—what sweetens her life most is purpose.

Her advice to young women?

“Don’t rush. Stand still, take in the beauty around you, and say yes to opportunities even when you doubt yourself. The belief will follow. If you want something, and you work for it—it’s possible.”
